US wholesaler Costco has reported an increase of 43.1% in e-commerce trading for the month of April, and a 34.9% increase in same in its 2018 fiscal year to date.
In terms of total sales, Costco reported net sales of $10.81 billion (€9.09 billion) for the retail month of April, an increase of 13.1% compared to the $9.56 billion it reported last year.
Costco said that the calendar shift of Easter positively impacted comparable sales by 1% or 2%.
For the thirty-five weeks of the fiscal year 2018 ended May 6, 2018, the wholesaler reported net sales of $92.24 billion(€77.60 billion), an increase of 12.2% compared to the $82.24 billion (€69.18 billion) last year.
Excluding the impacts of changes in gasoline prices and foreign exchange net sales only grew by 7.3% for the month of April, and 6.8% for the fiscal year.
