Netto International has announced that Brian Seemann Broe, the country director for its Denmark operation, has stepped down from his role and has left the company.
Seemann Broe was appointed country director for Netto Denmark in 2014, having previously held a number of positions with the discounter, including district manager and sales director.
Leadership Role
As country director, Seeman Broe led the incorporation of former Kiwi stores into the Netto group, welcomed the 500th store to the Netto portfolio, and introduced novel initiatives such as the removal of tobacco products from display, which has led to a reduction in youth smoking levels.
Commenting on his decision to resign, he said, “After five amazing years […], I now feel that I have to try something different. It has been a huge experience and privilege to work with such talented colleagues in such a dedicated organisation, and it is something that I have appreciated on a daily basis.”
Michael Løve, chief executive of Netto International, added that while he was “sorry to hear” about Seeman Broe’s decision, “I respect that he would like to try his hand at something new, and I thank him for his good and close cooperation”.
Sales Director
In a statement, Netto International said that it will not appoint a new country director for Denmark, instead incorporating the management of store operations into a newly-created sales director role.
Braw Bakir, who until recently held the position of regional manager with the group, will assume this role, reporting directly to Michael Løve.
