Spanish co-op Covirán has been accredited as being a brand with ‘High International Potential', by the Foro de Marcas Renombradas Españolas (Forum for Leading Spanish Brands).
As reported on revistainforetail.com, this accreditation means that Covirán is now part of the Club MAPI, a group of High International Potential brands.
This is the only company of its type to have such recognition. To grant the award, the forum analysed Covirán's profile and sales trajectory, and welcomed it due to 'its size, financial situation and competitive strengths'.
Luis Osuna, CEO of Grupo Covirán, said: "It is an honour to be part of the Club MAPI and to be the only supermarket present.”
Osuna added that Covirán has been a great alternative for many Portuguese retailers, who see the brand as a business with a future.
