Dansk Supermarked has announced that it will start opening its new Netto outlets this week, after acquiring 81 former Kiwi stores from Dagrofa last month.
In the coming months, the retailer will open over 40 Netto stores across Denmark with a new design concept. This week sees the opening of outlets in Odense, Odder, and Ullerslev.
"We're going to open our stores in record speed, and after Thursday's opening of our three new stores we will have three to four store openings weekly," said Brian Seemann Broe, country director of Netto.
Design Concept
The retailer says that the new stores will have a design that differs from the usual Netto supermarkets. These stores will have larger fruit and vegetable departments and a special section for convenience foods.
"We have a clear desire to create exciting discount stores, and we must constantly develop our stores to meet customer needs," added Seemann Broe. "Our new stores will be very welcoming and we will provide a little extra for everyday consumers with all the new stores in Denmark."
The new design has been tested in a small number of Netto stores in Sweden and German, as well as five in Denmark.
