Delhaize Group has come to a shaky agreement with workers for restructure of its operations in Belgium.
The proposal, which called for “a lighter and more efficient structure in our company-operated supermarkets” was reluctantly accepted by representatives of the company's workforce, supermarketnews.com reports.
Delhaize, which profits recently took a dip due to strikes, will close unprofitable stores, give some staff voluntary redundancy as well as slash costs.
The proposal could take effect by the end of the month, subject to approval by workers.
