Belgium's Delhaize has announced a cooperation agreement with employment platform Vlaamse Dienst voor Arbeidsbemiddeling en Beroepsopleiding (VDAB), as the retailer seeks to fill number of specific roles around its store estate.
The partnership will work in two ways: VDAB will take specific actions to publicise vacancies at Delhaize and select potential candidates, while Delhaize will utilise VDAB for information about labour-related issues and as an HR consultancy.
The agreement was signed between Denis Knoops, the chief executive of Delhaize Belgium, Flemish jobs minister Philippe Muyters, and Fons Leroy, the managing director of VDAB.
Delhaize is currently seeking to fill around 1,000 vacancies this year. In the short term, the retailer is looking to recruit as many as 50 skilled butchers for its stores, as well as store directors and deputy directors.
