Belgium’s Delhaize has announced the opening of its latest Shop & Go convenience store, at Hankar metro station in Brussels.
The new store covers around 90 square metres, and boasts some 2,500 SKUs. It is open seven days a week, and Delhaize says that the opening helps to meet the ‘growing demand’ for convenience stores in town centres and metro stations.
The new store features an emphasis on fresh produce, which accounts for 30% of the range, and ‘grab and go’ and convenience items. It will employ a total of five staff.
Independent
The store is operated by independent shopkeeper Sevil Dogan, who also operates a Shop & Go store at Botanique.
Commenting on the opening, he said that “Proximity, service and shopping convenience are the keywords of Shop & Go Hankar. With this new store we want Delhaize to be even closer to our customers.”
The store is located on the Waversesteenweg at the Hankar metro station, which is on Brussels’ Line 5.
