Ahold Delhaize's online platform Bol.com will set up online order collection points in Delhaize stores in Antwerp.
Customers will have the option to pick up orders placed on Bol.com from a Delhaize store of their choice at no extra cost.
The retailer will carry out a pilot test of the service during summer before extending it to the rest of the Flanders region in Belgium.
Better Customer Services
The partnership between Delhaize and Bol.com aims to offer better customer services at a regional level.
Bol.com will also open a branch office in Antwerp for better collaboration with Belgian retailers who sell products on the brand’s platform and create opportunities to form new partnerships with local producers.
In the next three to four years, Delhaize plans to open around 100 new supermarkets and consolidate its online proposition in Flanders.
Additionally, Albert Heijn Belgium will also open 30 to 50 supermarkets in the region in the next few years.
