Italian grocery retailer Despar Centro-Sud has opened two new Eurospar supermarkets in the southern region of Apulia.
The Canosa store is based on a new concept, with an innovative and practical display of products and refrigerated wall cabinets in the fresh department.
Transparency is the main feature of the adjacent meat department, with customers being able to observe the meat preparation and packaging process.
Completing the gastronomic experience is the bakery department, with different types of baked products ready on the hour. Overall, consumers can choose from over 4,000 food and non-food items.
Trani Eurospar
Located in a former mill, the Eurospar supermarket in Trani has a sales area of around 1,000 square metres, offering some 4,500 food and non-food items, with a strong focus on fresh. It includes a deli, butchery, bakery, and a fruit and vegetable department.
Local produce features prominently, along with health and wellness products, including the free-from range for consumers with food allergies. A selection of prestigious wines from local wineries completes the offer.
Both stores are equipped with energy-saving cooling and refrigeration systems (allowing for 45% lower energy consumption), while the LED lighting system uses 50% less energy than traditional lighting.
Maiora, the regional concessionaire of the Despar brand, is planning two more store openings in May in Bari and Crotone, with the latter an opening in the cash & carry channel.
