Spanish retailer DIA has appointed Dawid Jaschok as its new chief commercial officer, reporting to Karl-Heinz Holland, the group's recently appointed chief executive.
Jaschok boasts more than 19 years' worth of experience in supply, sales and marketing, the retailer said, working with a number of retailers across Europe.
He is also well known to the group's CEO, having worked alongside him at Lidl in the early part of this decade.
Both Jaschok and Holland left the discounter in 2014, citing “differing views concerning the future strategy of the business”.
Since then, Jaschok has been working on the development of an omni-channel non-food retail format, as well as advising a number of international retail brands, DIA said in a statement.
'Meet The Challenges'
'Dawid will now lead and complement an existing team, which we will continue to define, to successfully meet the challenges DIA faces in its core activity: selling great products to customers across our four markets,' the retailer said.
In his new role, Jaschok will work on the development of the commercial, marketing and e-commerce strategy at group level, as well as explore new retail formats to ensure sustainable growth going forward.
“I am delighted that Dawid has joined the new management team at DIA and I look forward to seeing his talent and knowledge shared across his areas of responsibility," Holland commented. "I know that the teams will find a great leader that combines vision and a strong work ethic, Dawid will bring a renewed energy and focus on excellence and innovation that will benefit everyone."
Holland was appointed CEO of the business in May.
