Spanish retailer Dia has opened its first Dia Fresh store in France. The store, which is located in the ground floor of a residential building in Nice, focuses largely on fresh produce, with fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish making up around 70% of the banner's offering.
Dia began roll-out of the fresh food focused model across Spain last year, after a successful pilot trial in Madrid. A similar concept was launched in November 2012 in Lisbon under the 'Mini Fresh' banner.
Dia's new store, which is located on Boulevard Napoléon III in Nice, offers a selection of fresh snacks, an in-store bakery and a 'streamlined' grocery department, which gives priority to everyday essentials, according to the retailer. The store is open daily from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm, except for Sundays, when it opens from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm. (3 July)
