Spanish food retail group DIA has announced that it has set up a new executive committee to drive the implementation of its transformation plan.
The committee, comprising seven members, will be headed by the DIA's chief executive - Borja de la Cierva.
Out of the seven members, five are from within the organisation, while two have been newly hired by the firm.
New Appointments
María Miralles has joined the food retailer as the executive director of transformation, while Pedro Barsanti has taken charge as the executive director of IT.
Miralles is an experienced professional with extensive knowledge of the distribution sector transformation processes in Europe, North America, and Latin America.
She has been a partner with the management consulting firm Oliver Wyman for the last 13 years, and will continue to hold on to the position.
Barsanti, meanwhile, is a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of experience in technology and digital transformation in companies in the distribution sector.
He will focus on strengthening DIA's business through technology, ensuring organisational efficiency, and catering to clients' demands.
In-House Members
Other members of the committee are company secretary and executive director, Miguel Ángel Iglesias; the executive director of DIA Spain, Faustino Domínguez de la Torre; financial executive director, Enrique Weickert; executive director of human resources, Alejandro Grande; and executive director of clients, José Antonio Lombardía.
