Polish retailer Dino Polska has announced that it opened 33 new stores in the first quarter of 2019, compared to 25 in the corresponding period last year.
The store increase means that Dino Polska has hit the thousand-store mark, operating a total of 1,009 stores as of March 2019, compared to 800 at this stage last year.
The total selling area of Dino Polska is now 389,000 square metres, up from 305,400 square metres a year ago.
Sales Growth
In March, Dino Polska announced that it saw like-for-like sales growth of 11.6% in full-year 2018, to PLN 5.8 billion (€1.35 billion).
The business invested PLN 634 million in its operations last year, mainly in new stores and a new distribution centre.
"We are increasing the density of our store count; we are also gradually extending our reach to include new areas, thereby enabling us to transform into a nationwide network in a sustainable and financially effective manner," Szymon Piduch, president of the management board of Dino Polska said last month.
