Russian retailer Dixy Group has announced the refurbishment of the twelve Sedmoy Kontinent outlets it acquired - in the Kaliningrad region - in December 2016. The refurbished stores are to re-open at the end of January, as Victoria supermarkets.
The group has re-employed more than 300 former Sedmoy Kontinent employees and is currently recruiting additional staff for the outlets.
"Opening new stores is part of the Dixy Group’s strategy for the development of the Victoria chain. When recruiting, we give preference to highly qualified staff with retail experience, and those who successfully passed their certification and training have already been offered jobs at Victoria,” said Oleg Zhunikov, the director of the Victoria Division.
The acquisition of the Sedmoy Kontinent outlets has extended the group's retail space by around 30,000 square metres.
Dixy Group currently operates 2,788 stores across Russia, including 2,634 Dixy (convenience) stores, 114 Victoria supermarkets and 40 MegaMart and MiniMart hypermarkets.
