Russian retailer Dixy Group has opened its 27th Victoria supermarket in the Kalingrad region. The store is located in the resort town Pionersky.
The new store features the Victoria PUB shop-in-shop, where customers are able to purchase draft beer and lemonade. Dixy Group said that this feature ‘enjoys great popularity’ and is responsible for over 12% of sales in the beer category.
The store opened on 19 May with a number of events and giveaways. Customers were able to win prizes such as kitchenware sets, recipe books from Victoria’s chef, and souvenirs.
Continued Expansion
The retailer announced that the chain’s total sales area increased by 20% year-on-year during the first quarter of 2017.
The Dixy Group has had a busy start to 2017, opening eight new Victoria supermarkets in Kaliningrad to replace former Sedmoy Kontinent stores. It also opened its 50th Victoria supermarket in Moscow in February.
