Jumbo branches in Oldenzaal, Veldhoven and Eerbeek have been named the three 'best Jumbo stores in the Netherlands', at the 'Golden Jumbos' award ceremony in Hilversum, in The Netherlands. Around 580 branches took part in the third edition of the national contest.
Additional prizes were awarded at store- and department level, and for the best implementation of Jumbo's '7 Guarantees' programme.
Jumbo Kuipers in Oldenzaal was awarded a first place honour, also achieving the highest score in the intermediate rounds and in the valuation of the store's '7 Guarantees'. Jumbo Veldhoven and Jumbo Heine Eerbeek followed in second and third place.
"I am extremely proud of all Jumbo employees," said Frits van Eerd, CEO of Jumbo Supermarkets. The commitment and determination to achieve the best performance is inspiring. Such commitment, in combination with the unique Jumbo formula, is characteristic for the success of the stores. But, as with all contests, there can only be one winner and this year, Jumbo Oldenzaal stood tallest among the crowd. A great achievement!"
