Dutch retailer Jumbo has announced it is set to re-open a total of nine refurbished, or relocated stores, across the country in January and February of this year.
Two supermarkets, in Haren and De Meern are to be relocated. Four existing stores, in Den Bosch, Deventer, Maastricht and Leiden will be refurbished and three more stores, in Etten-Leur, Moergestel and Urk, will be refurbished and extended.
All store interiors will be re-designed, following the latest 'Jumbo formula' concept.
"Together with our independent retailers and all our Jumbo colleagues, we look forward to the festive openings in January and February," said Colette Cloosterman-van Eerd, director of formula and innovation at Jumbo Supermarkets.
She added, "Many of our refurbished stores will now have a Pick-Up Point where customers can pick up groceries ordered online. We will also continue to extend the Jumbo delivery service, to offer our customers the best range of options, to shop how, where and when they like."
