Dutch Retailer Vomar Sees Revenue Up 7.3% In 2018

Dutch retailer Vomar Voordeelmarkt has posted organic revenue growth of 7.3% in the Dutch market in full-year 2018.

The retailer said that its growth rate is more than twice that of the market average, which Nielsen calculates at 3.4%, making Vomar the fastest-growing supermarket in the Netherlands for the second year in a row.

Its 2018 performance follows on from a turnover increase of 6.4% the previous year.

Seeking To Expand

The group said that it has set out a 'clear ambition' for the coming year, targeting both turnover growth in existing stores and expansion of the group beyond the current 66 outlets.

Alongside its sister company Hoorne Vastgoed, Vomar said that it is looking for suitable store locations in Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland, Utrecht and Flevoland.

Commenting on its 2018 performance, the retailer said that 'many new initiatives were launched that were highly appreciated by both its existing and large number of new customers. In addition to a weekly attractive promotional and promotional offer, we have worked hard to further develop a formula that stands for the lowest price, the best quality and the fastest service'.

The year 2018 marked the 50th anniversary of Vomar Voordeelmarkt.
