French retailer E.Leclerc has set up collection points at its stores across the country to collect used pens.
For the third consecutive year the retailer has teamed up with BIC for this initiative, which aims to recycle used pens into outdoor furniture.
People can drop off used pens, markers, mechanical pencils, erasers, markers, highlighters, correctors, of all brands at these collection points until 13 September.
Recycling
The pens will be crushed and sorted and transformed into outdoor furniture by Plas Eco - a company specialising in manufacturing urban furniture from recycled plastic.
E.Leclerc will also donate 1 cent for each pen collected through the initiative to La Voix de l'Enfant, an association that protects and defends vulnerable children.
