Italian food retailer Eataly has teamed up with Italy-based catering company Autogrill to create a new format called 'Eataly x Autogrill'.
The new outlet will be located at the Secchia Ovest (Modena) service area, managed by Autogrill, on Italy’s A1 motorway.
The area sees a significant flow of Italian and foreign travelers throughout the year, and is located in Emilia-Romagna, a part of Italy particularly renowned for gastronomy.
The offering on the ground floor includes a round-the-clock café by Eataly and Kimbo, and a confectionery counter with 'Golosi di Salute' pâtisserie by Eataly pastry chef Luca Montersino.
Other offerings include Ortobra salads; typical Modena tortellini and passatelli with Parmigiano Reggiano from pasta makers Michelis and Rossi; La Granda meat from the famous Piedmontese cattle breed; as well as craft piadina supplied by Fratelli Maioli (Cervia).
A wood oven bakery completes the ground floor offering, featuring various types of bread and focaccia. The first floor is dedicated to table service, seating a total of 350.
The new Secchia Ovest Eataly outlet expects to see around 1,300,000 customers over the coming 12 months.
