German retailer Edeka has launched its Christmas 2017 campaign, ‘Kein Fest ohne Liebe’ ('No celebration without love') with a new television ad, as well as offering a range of Christmas dinner recipes.
The German supermarket says that it wants to remind people of what really matters most during the holidays: spending time and enjoying good food with friends and family.
The new TV advertisement shows a futuristic robot employee gliding through the supermarket aisles. When suggesting a recipe to an elderly couple looking at the meat counter, the robot forgets one essential ingredient to any good Christmas dinner: love.

Edeka is also promoting its Christmas motto online, with tips for making a stress-free Christmas dinner and a number of recipes, including beetroot ravioli, beef tenderloin with herbs, and caramelised cranberry tartlets.
On Youtube, Edeka is offering a series of recipe videos titled ‘Edeka Genussmomente’ (enjoyable moments), and on Facebook Edeka shoppers can share what is essential to their Christmas celebration under the hashtag #KeinFestOhne.
