German retailer Edeka Südwest has been awarded with the 'audit berufundfamilie’ certificate for the second time.
The certificate honours Edeka’s strategic family and life phase-oriented personnel policy, and was awarded by the Bundesfamilienministerium and Bundeswirtschaftsministerium, the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs and the Federal Ministry of Economics.
Company Focus
Edeka’s focus lies on employees with small children and relatives in need of care. The company has introduced new measures such as flexible working hours and mobile work, in addition to already established offers such as providing babysitters or the ‘Storchenpost’, which gives parents shopping vouchers for nappies.
“The re-certification shows that we are continually working on a family-friendly personnel policy in which the focus lies on the compatibility of work, family and private life, and that we are always developing new measures,” said Torsten Geiler, Edeka’s head of human resources.
Overall, a total of 353 employers received the audit berufundfamilie certificate, including 159 retailers, 153 institutions and 41 universities.
