Retailer El Corte Inglés celebrated 15 years of retail in Portugal on Wednesday.
The Spanish company, which is also celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, began its expansion in the neighbouring country with outlets in Lisbon.
El Corte Inglés has established a successful venture in Portugal and cemented commercial relationships with hundreds of Portuguese producers, cmjornal.pt reported.
The volume of purchases in Portuguese stores this year surpasses €250 million.
El Corte Inglés currently employs approximately 3,000 employees in Portugal, and boasts a high staff retention rate.
One of the reasons for this success is the company's high investment in training; employees receive an average of 60 hours of training per year.
