El Corte Inglés has joined Círculo Fortuny, a non-profit group that has promoted luxury Spanish goods and services since its foundation in 2011.
The membership is described as recognition of the company’s leading role in the Spanish retail industry, according to GranConsumo.tv.
El Corte Inglés is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, and today features over 2.5 million items on its shelves, from world-famous luxury brands, to products by small local artisans
Javier Fernández Andrino, International Director of Marketing and Strategy of El Corte Inglés explained that retailer’s membership of Círculo Fortuny is part of its efforts to promote “the Spanish Brand”.
"Distancing things from the themes of sunshine and beaches, we aim to showcase the richness of Spanish cities, with their culture, gastronomy, fashion, art, architecture, and luxury hotels, and to promote a better knowledge of Spanish products on the world," said Fernández.
