Spanish retailer El Corte Inglés has announced a series of activities to mark ‘Mes de la Sostenibilidad’ (Sustainability Month).
The retailer will host a series of debates and roundtable discussions, under the name #Ecoencuentros, which will seek to raise awareness of the importance of the environment, as well as a number of children’ workshops, under the name PitiFlu El Corte Inglés.
Events
It will also host events in its various stores, with the aim to educate customers about waste management and recycling, and promoting its own sustainability programmes, including Ecoembes, Ecotic, Ambilamp and Ecopilas.
The group offers some 6,500 products certified with sustainability and ecological accreditations, including FSC, Rainforest Alliance and other marks.
El Corte Inglés said that its sustainability strategy is allied to that of the United Nations Global Compact and the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), as well as the Consumer Goods Forum.
