Spanish retail giant El Corte Inglés will open a new shop on 6 June in Serrano, dedicated entirely to female products.
The retailer opened its MAN store last November, El Corte Inglés' store dedicated exclusively to men's fashion, also located in Serrano. Now, according to expansion.com, the group is betting on replicating this success, targeting female consumers this time.
After several months designing the space, this new concept from El Corte Inglés will offer six floors of women's clothes and accessories, including brands that were previously unavailable.
Fashion and accessories are a huge part of El Corte Inglés' business. Last year, the fashion, beauty, jewellery, homeware and leisure categories earned the company sales of over €7 billion. Sales in these departments experienced growth of 11 per cent of 2015.
Of that total, fashion, accessories, beauty and jewellery accounted for 51.5 per cent, with sales of €4.3 billion.
