Spanish supermarket chain Eroski has reported operating profits of €36.7 million for the first half of this year to July 2015.
The retailer also put plans in place to improve internal efficiency, reducing operating costs by €11 million.
Between February and July of this year, Eroski created 538 new jobs through the reshaping of its own stores to a new business model, and through the opening of new franchised stores.
Eroski opened 52 new franchised stores in the first half of 2015, and it is expecting to end the year with a total of 100 new franchised supermarkets.
Eroski Group operates a total of 1,897 stores including hypermarkets, supermarkets, online stores and sports shops.
