Italian supermarket chain Esselunga has opened its third store in Verona, located in Viale del Lavoro, in the city’s Fiera district.
With a retail area of 4,500 square metres, the new ouetlet is Esselunga’s largest superstore in the city.
Unlike the other stores it operates in the city, the new outlet features an Atlantic bar and restaurant, which offers breakfast, lunch, and aperitifs. The menu also includes salads, fruit salads, fresh fruit juices, and various specialties prepared on the spot.
The Verona store is number 156 in Esselunga’s network and the third store opening in 2017 after Rome Prenestino and Novara Veveri.
Continued Expansion
Elsewhere, Esselunga has obtained permission from the Piedmont Region and the Municipality of Turin to open a 4,500 square metre store in the Corso Vittorio Emanuele area, reports La Repubblica.
The Regional Administrative Court has yet to make a decision on the new store, following an appeal presented by competitor Coop at the end of 2013. The hearing, following three years of referrals, took place recently and a ruling is due by September.
