Casino Group has announced a partnership with family-owned retailer Quattrucci Group, which will see 12 supermarkets and hypermarkets join Casino.
The 12 stores, which specialise in fresh produce, are currently operated by Claude and Bruno Quattrucci and their children.
From 1 January next year, the stores, located in the Île-de-France region and the Oise département, will be supplied by Casino Group.
Seven of the stores are to be operated under the Marché Frais Géant banner, while the other five will operate under the Marché Frais Leader Price banner.
Collectively, the stores generated more than €300 million in sales last year.
Point Of Difference
In a statement, Casino Group noted, ‘This partnership, while operating under these two Casino Group banners, will preserve the concept developed by the Quattrucci family and which has ensured its success: interior design in the spirit of covered markets, a strong focus on fresh products available in self-service, a well-designed assortment of consumer products, making it possible to offer a complete and high-quality range of products at low prices.’
The group added that the partnership goes hand in hand with Casino’s ongoing development strategy, which is focused on ‘buoyant formats and the implementation of partnerships with experienced food retail operators’.
