Finnish retailer Kesko has announced the opening of a new store in St Petersburg in Russia, and announced that it will be opening three new stores in the country in 2016.
The new store, which trades under the K-ruoka banner, opened at Prospekt Yuriya Gagarina in the city.
It is the ninth store that Kesko has opened under the K-ruoka banner.
Commenting, Kari Heiskanen, Kesko’s country director for Russia, said that the retailer will 'continue capital expenditure in Russia', adding that 'every new investment will be carefully considered'.
Kesko operates stores in Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Belarus as well as its native Finland.
