FMCG sales in Romania saw growth of 5.7% in value terms last year, while they increased by 1.2% in volume terms, the latest data from GfK has revealed.
The data indicates that FMCG sales have increased at a much slower rate compared to overall retail sales in the country, reports news platform Romania-Insider.
The study also found that the overall volume of food sales and non-food sales increased by 6.1% in 2018, which is five times that of FMCG sales.
Sales Of Durables
In terms of store formats, modern convenience outlets attracted more buyers in 2018 than in a year earlier, according to GfK data.
Sales of consumer goods across all segments grew in 2018, with dairy emerging as the most dynamic segment, registering 9% growth in value terms.
