The US-based National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) has appointed Frank Gleeson its chairman for the year 2018 -2019.
Gleeson is the president of the North European arm of multinational food services provider, Aramark.
The announcement was made during the NACS show, which is being held in Las Vegas between 7 October - 10 October.
An Industry Veteran
Gleeson joined Aramark in 2014 as managing director of its food services in Ireland. He was recently named the COO of its Northern European group.
Prior to Aramark, he served as the vice-president of retail for Statoil Ireland, and in 2005, he was named the retail director of Topaz Energy Group in Ireland.
About The Role
As the chairman of NACS, Gleeson will lead its executive committee. The members of the committee, hailing from various retail groups, provide strategic direction and financial oversight to the association.
NACS has also named two new retail members to its board of directors. These include Anne Gauthier of St. Romain Oil Company in Los Angeles, and Nick Lacaillade of Certified Oil Company, Ohio.
The association is led by a 30-member board, which includes three retailers from non-North American countries.
