French supermarket chain Match is to close a number of its stores, following disappointing sales performances, according to a report in Linéaires.
The 11 outlets in question have been in deficit for the last number of years, and their closures will entail a shrinking of Match's portfolio by eight per cent, taking it down to 129 retail units. The retailer is expected to publish a turnover of €1.065 billion for 2014.
Linéaires says the closures will take place at, respectively, Montbéliard, Colmar, Mulhouse Stoessel, Sarre-Union, Obernai, Forbach-Est, Freyming-Merlebach, Ligny-en-Barrois, Verdun, Reims and Vitry-le-François.
Match is a subsidiary of the Belgian retailer Delhaize.
