Some 33,000 professionals from almost every food and drink industry are expected to pass through the doors of Expoalimentaria 2015 over the next three days.
With Peru earmarked to triple its fruit and vegetable production within the next five years to three-million tonnes, Expoalimentaria, which commences today in Lima, is likely to be the biggest yet, for exhibitors and visitors alike.
The event is billed as a great place to find key decision-makers from agri-business, fishing, supplies, packaging, packaging machinery, equipment and services for the food industry in the region, including exports and importers, supermarkets, food processors, packaging/logistics, and other service providers.
Expoalimentaria is the largest international trade show in the region that highlights these sectors and has become the focal point of exporters and select buyers from all corners of the globe.
More than 600 exhibitors will be displaying their merchandise using innovative trends and state-of-the-art technology.
Expoalimentaria is becoming the sector's main business platform – an excellent opportunity to do business with the world.
Since the conception of Expoalimentaria, one of the objectives has been to promote the competitiveness of the participating companies. It is in this line of thought that since 2010, Expoalimentaria is rewarding ingenuity and entrepreneurial creativity through the Innovation Contest.
This important competition, which has the support of prestigious institutions in the private and public sector and the industry's renowned opinion leaders, has already successfully awarded several companies in various categories.
For the sixth edition, nine categories have been defined, based on the exportable supply of the fair. It will also feature the award for most innovative product, which will be chosen among the winners in each category.
