The UK's Groceries Code Adjudicator has launched a new approach to drive effective compliance risk management by retailers.
According to a statement by the GCA, adjudicator Christine Tacon will work with each of the 12 large retailers to ensure all their practices, systems and behaviours will meet their obligations under the Groceries Supply Code of Practice.
“I am introducing a common factors approach to guide their compliance risk management activity," Tacon said.
Tacon added that she is planning on stepping down from her role next year.
Top Concerns
Top concerns for suppliers last year were delays in payments, however the percentage that cite this as a concern has fallen from 19% to 13%.
Forecasting is another issue most reported by suppliers, but this has also continued to decline.
The adjudicator also said that she would be examining how the code should apply to various buying alliances, joint ventures and merged entities run by the regulated retailers.
