Italian regional grocery retailer Commerciale GiCap has rolled out a new store concept, which it describes as the 'supermarket of the future'.
The retailer has recently opened the Sidis 3.0 store in the centre of Messina, in Sicily, which features this new design.
It integrates the features of classic retail outlets, while enhancing the customer experience through digital solutions, such as enabling the consumer to do their shopping on tablets and smartphones in the store's Wi-Fi area.
As well as new technology, the Sidis 3.0 store also features a wide range of fresh products, with a butcher counter, delicatessen, fish and sushi, and a fruit and vegetables department.
To promote the new store, Sidis 3.0 will provide free home delivery until 31 October.
