Matthias Bruch is to step in as the managing director of the German retail chain Globus Holding in the summer of 2020, reports Rundschau.de.
He will replace his father, Thomas Bruch, who is presently at the helm of the Saarland-based company.
'New Thinking'
Thomas Bruch, who will turn 70 next year, feels it is time to pass the baton to the next generation as “new thinking” will help the company to reach out to younger customers.
Presently, Matthias Bruch serves as the managing director of Globus SB-Warenhaus Saarbrücken-Güdingen.
Commenting on his new responsibilities, Matthias Bruch said that he considers as an opportunity to identify potential areas of growth in the organisation.
Elsewhere, Erich Huwer, responsible for building Globus’ hardware store business, is set to retire on 31 December 2019.
He will be succeeded by his son, Timo Huwer, the report said.
