German retailer Globus has announced plans to cease operating its 'fridel markt & restaurant' concept.
fridel markt & restaurant combines urban market hall and restaurant facilities, the company said.
New Opportunities
The concept offered a range of meals to enjoy on-site or purchase for home consumption, as well as a range of around 5,000 SKUs.
"Since the opening of fridel in the spring of 2015, we have been able to gain valuable experience in the field of small retail, combined with new knowledge in the field of multichannel, gastronomy and assortment", explained Sebastian Fischer, head of sales at fridel.
"These are now being incorporated into the evolution of our corporate strategy, and we can leverage our experience for other formats."
fridel markt & restaurant's sole outlet, which covers an area of around 800 square meters is located in Saarbrücken. It will close in August 2019.
