Brazilian retail group GPA is to open Minuto Pão de Açúcar stores in a number of office buildings, reports suggest.
The stores will have a maximum size of 150 square metres and focus on offering consumers a quick and practical shopping experience.
Pilot Store
The concept is being tested at the company's headquarters, in the Jardim Paulista neighbourhood in São Paulo.
The new store offers more than 2,000 SKUs, including snacks, drinks, and cold and hot dishes for immediate consumption.
The store has a cafeteria where customers can enjoy their breakfast, lunch, desserts, as well as other food items and drinks.
The products in the store have been categorised around three groupings, 'Run out at home', 'Start the day' and 'For every hour', to help customers identify their needs.
The decor of the store implements a mixture of the characteristic green of the Minuto Pão de Açúcar stores and bright colours.
The store is designed with materials such as wood and metal to create a modern retail environment.
Other Highlights
Other highlights of the store include self-checkout and scan-and-go payment options, both designed to optimise the customer experience.
The store also houses a corner dedicated to Pão de Açúcar Adega, a specialist beverage platform launched by the company in December 2018.
By the end of 2019, GPA plans to open as many as 15 Minuto Pão de Açúcar stores in offices and corporate headquarters.
The stores will source products from an exclusive distribution centre for the GPA banners Minuto Pão de Açúcar and Mini Extra, in São Paulo.
