The UN’s Comité Femmes France and Groupe Casino have formed a partnership dedicated to working towards greater gender equality in the workplace.
This has been agreed upon at the supermarket chain’s ‘highest level’, according to a press release on the matter.
This year saw the the publication of the manual Egalité Professionnelle Femmes-Hommes : Lutter Contre le Sexisme Ordinaire (Male-Female Professional Equality: Fighting Everyday Sexism). The document was distributed among Groupe Casino’s supermarket managers, and won the LSA.fr Prix de la Parité Homme-Femme at the trade publication’s Trophées LSA 2016 de la Diversité.
“In all places where the group is present, it leads in taking concrete actions to encourage [female] career development in a manner that takes into account parenthood and supports a work-life balance, and to ensure the equal payment of both genders,” a company spokesperson said.
