The director general of the Franprix, Jean-Paul Mochet, is to head the domestic convenience store division of Groupe Casino in a promotion that will put him at the helm of 7,600 convenience stores across France, lsa-conso.fr reports.
Franprix currently operates about 860 supermarkets, and has a turnover of circa €2 billion. Mochet, who joined Groupe Casino in 2000, will front a larger operation in leading its convenience arm, which has a turnover of about €4 billion.
Under the Groupe Casino convenience banner are FMCG retailers such as Petit Casino, Leader Price Express, Casino Shop, and Vival.
Mochet has acted as Franprix’s director general since 2008.
