Groupe Casino has announced a partnership with Uber Eats to offer customers access to grocery delivery services in less than 30 minutes.
The service, currently offered in 50 stores, will be available in approximately 500 shops in France by next autumn.
Customers can choose from a range of hundreds of everyday products, such as fruit and vegetables, dairy products, dry goods, cleaning products, drinks, and beauty products.
The partnership follows close on the heels of Carrefour's announcement to expand its express delivery service to France with Deliveroo.
Rollout Plan
Initially, the partnership will be introduced in around thirty French cities, including the Ile-de-France, Lyon and Bordeaux, with Franprix, Monoprix, La Nouvelle Cave, and the Drugstore Parisien.
In the second phase, the service will be extended to other Groupe Casino stores in more French cities.
Uber Eats aims to continue to democratise access to grocery delivery through this partnership, which was initiated a year ago.
In April 2020, Uber Eats teamed up with Géant Casino for grocery delivery during the first containment phase following the pandemic.
The collaboration will also strengthen and diversify the selection offered by a simple and accessible experience in a few clicks via the Uber Eats application.
For Groupe Casino, this partnership aligns with its strategy to develop its food e-commerce segment and offer more local services to its customers, particularly in high-growth formats such as urban, premium and convenience stores.
