Groupe Casino’s youth education programme, Journée des Apprentis, will host its ‘congress’ meeting on 1 July, paving the way for young people to join the Casino workforce, as well as those of related companies.
The event, which is now in its fifth year, has been organised by past ‘apprentices’ of the programme for the first time.
More than 1,000 new people join the Casino under its banners Géant Casino, Casino Supermarchés, Casino Proximité, Casino Restauration and Easydis each year. The Journée des Apprentis is “at the heart of” the company’s HR policy, it said in a press release.
Some 65 per cent of students of the programme are trained for food preparation, that is, to be bakers, butchers, fishmongers, etc., while the remaining 35 per cent are floor staff, managers, and so forth.
