Gruppo PAM has partnered with RetailPro to bring the PAM store banner to Italy’s Campania region.
The agreement, signed by Gruppo PAM subsidiary PAM Franchising, will see the opening of 100 stores in southern Italy in January 2021 and the creation of 3,000 jobs during the 2020-2021 period.
RetailPro is a newly-established retail investment business, of which which Gruppo PAM is an active partner and shareholder.
RetailPro is entering the Italian retail market with a planned investment of €20 million earmarked for 2020 alone, which will mainly be invested in new stores, but also go towards the construction of a 30,000 square metre distribution centre in the Aversa Nord industrial area.
Format Development
According to PAM Franchising CEO, Andrea Zoratti, the partnership will see the development of all three PAM store formats (Pam, Panorama, and Pam Local).
The general manager and CEO of RetailPro, Giovanni Domenico Barbano, said that the stores will have an average sales area of 650 square meters, adding that the two main levers for attracting customers will be pricing and assortment.
Gruppo PAM operates more than 400 points of sale in eleven Italian regions, either directly or through franchising agreements.
