Sweden's Hemköp, a part of the Axfood Group, has announced the appointment of Simone Margulies as the new president of Hemköpskedjan AB, effective 1 February 2020.
She will also be a member of the Axfood AB executive committee, the company added.
Experienced Professional
Margulies is an experienced professional, who has been a part of the Axfood Group for four years.
Commenting on her new role, Margulies, said, "I have a passion for simplifying life for our customers and giving employees the best possible conditions to deliver both inspiration and great food experience.
"I am delighted to now have this opportunity to champion this with our retailers and the rest of the Hemköp and Tempo team."
Most recently, she served as the vice-president of Axfood’s logistics and purchasing company, Dagab.
Before joining Axfood, she was as a business area manager for ICA Sverige.
'A Highly Appreciated Leader'
Klas Balkow, president and CEO of Axfood, said, "Simone’s broad record of experience from the food retail trade and current role at Dagab makes her very suitable for the assignment.
"Moreover, Simone is a highly appreciated leader who always has a clear focus on customers, employees, and business."
Margulies will succeed Thomas Gäreskog, who stepped down from the role in August of this year.
