Austrian retailer Hofer, the sister supermarket chain to Germany’s Aldi Süd, has announced that it is opening a new outlet in Breitenfurt, near Vienna, after a five month construction period.
Hofer has been expanding it’s branch network this year - 15 new outlets have been opened so far, and more than 30 have been modernised. The retailer now operates around 480 stores across Austria.

The new supermarket will offer a wide range of fruit and vegetables, various snacks and bakery products, as well as alcoholic drinks.
Adding to the retailer's sustainability initiative 'Projekt 2020', the new store will be operated by renewable energy and will be cleaned with only ecological products. In addition, LED lights have been installed in the outlet to save energy.
