Austrian retailer Hofer, a sister supermarket chain to Germany’s Aldi Süd, has announced the relocation of one of its outlets in Oberwart, Austria, to another site in the town.
According to Hofer, the relocation has many benefits and is part of the retailer’s extensive expansion project. Last year, 15 new outlets were opened and more than 30 were modernised.
Store Features
The new outlet now offers 1,100 square metres of sales space, which is considerably larger than the previous 800 square metre store.
As well as a new bakery section, the new-look supermarket now provides customers with a range of chilled snacks and drinks. In addition, a wider selection of fruits and vegetables and a variety of wines are available.
In order to generate a sustainable and efficient energy supply for the store, LED lighting and a combined heat and energy system have been installed. The new store will be operated by renewable energy and will be cleaned using only ecological products, in keeping with Hofer's environmental agenda.
