Discount retailer Aldi Süd's Hofer has for the second time won the coveted 'Best Buy Award' in Slovenia.
Slovenian consumers awarded Hofer three awards: best value for money (the main category), best retail chain and best international retail chain. Hofer has been present in Slovenia since 2005 where it has over 70 stores.
In Macedonia, the Best Buy Award in the international retail chain category went to Vero, owned by Greek retail group Veropoulos (holder of the Spar retail franchise for Greece). The group owns eight stores in Macedonia (five in Skopje, two in Bitola and one in Tetovo).
Winners in other categories include Milka (value for money and chocolate), Skopsko Pivo (light beer), Divella (pasta), Nivea (shower gel), Viva (fruit juices) and Bimilk (milk).
Milka was also a winner in the Best Buy Awards conducted in Montenegro, in the chocolate category. Other winners included: Nivea (body shampoo), Ariel (laundry detergent), Trebjesa (light beer), Mljekara Lazine (milk).
The Best Buy Awards are awarded based on international standards set forth by ICERTIAS - the International Certification Association, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, in addition to numerous local and international partners of the organisation.
