The GKI-Erste economic sentiment index, which tracks consumer sentiment in Hungary, has remained unchanged for February, reflecting a relatively optimistic mood in Hungary.
Expectations declined slightly in the business sector, compared to January, whereas they improved a bit among consumers.
Industrial and commercial expectations improved minimally, whereas expectations in services and especially in construction were less favourable than in the previous month.
Consumers' inflationary expectations continued to ease in Hungary. After a fall in January, the assessment of the perspectives of the Hungarian economy improved markedly in all sectors.
However, with the exception of the service sector, those expecting a worsening economy were in a slight majority. The opinion of households on this issue was only slightly more optimistic.
