ICA Gruppen has appointed Karin Andrén as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO) and a member of its management team, effective 1 April 2024.
Andrén, who previously held HR-related roles at Electrolux and Länsförsäkringsgruppen, succeeds Petra Albuschus, who stepped down from the role in May of this year.
In August of 2022, the retail group announced a number of new appointments at the top level following the resignation of group CEO Per Strömberg and ICA Sweden CEO Anders Svensson.
'Long And In-Depth Experience'
Nina Jönsson, CEO of ICA Gruppen stated, "Karin not only has long and in-depth experience from various HR roles in complex organisations, but she has also successfully led major change programmes within retail. She is focused on the business and used to working close to customers."
Andrén said that ICA Gruppen has built up an "impressive ecosystem" of its various businesses and it would be a stimulating place to work as it puts the employee and the customer in focus and implements successful sustainability initiatives.
She added, "I am attracted by the long-term approach that exists in the company and I am really looking forward to contributing my experience and knowledge to ICA’s continuing onward journey."
Green Bond Issue
Elsewhere, the retailer completed a green bond issue of SEK 3.5 billion (€310 billion) under the company’s Swedish MTN programme.
The bonds of SEK 1.25 billion (€110 million) and SEK 2.25 billion (€20o million) were issued with tenors of three and five years, respectively, with fixed and floating rate tranches for both.
The issue, also the company's first after the launch of the Green Finance Framework, saw strong demand and was more than 1.5 times oversubscribed.
